Okay...so I fell of the blog wagon again for a bit but a lot of it was because I just didn't have much to write about. I'm sure you've all (all 3 of you that might read this that is) been anxiously waiting for my next update. Here we go...
If I recall I left you back in October. Oh my how things have changed...sort of. Well, uhm...not really. A few major tidbits are:
1) I finally sold my condo in Carlsbad. I accepted the offer back in the beginning of October and should have (shoulda coulda woulda!) closed escrow on it on November 8th. Of course that's not quite how it went...turns out my 60% cash buyer had a credit issue. She was able to work around it and not a big deal but it did take about 45 days OVER the 30 day escrow. In case you haven't been in this situation...it's excruciating!! I really needed that to close and to get the little $$ back so that I could make an offer up here. Ugh. It finally happened though and all was good.
2) I bought a house. YAY! And like everyone kept telling me I guess things always work out for the best. The house I ended up buying wasn't even an option (due to price) until 5 days before I made my offer. It had been out of my price range and had just dropped down...perfect! So...right after Christmas the offer went in and we started the process! The house is super cute and while it does have some issues that I'll have to fix it's really not much in the scheme of things.
3)Due to buying a house that didn't have some appliances, I have been shopping, shopping and more shopping...and needless to say I'm BROKE!!! In the last 3 days I have purchased: a dishwasher (the current one was broken), a brand new front loader washing machine and dryer ($$$), a new 47" 3-D tv (3-D by popular demand that I would regret not going that route), and countless other small items. Still to purchase this week or within the next few weeks: an antique/distressed buffet, light fixtures, rugs, lawn, an alarm system, and yeah...the list just goes on and on. But...I'll officially own my own house...not a condo. Oh...I guess I need a lawn-mower too...
So...I have been a bit busy. And since my last post we've had Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and my Birthday! Yikes! (Plus a super fun girls weekend, lot of time with the babies, and time with friends and family!)
With 2012, as cliche as it sounds, I'm determined to get in shape. I don't just mean diet and lose some lbs...but to really get into working out. I'm trying to get better at going to the gym and have found some friends that use the same fitness apps to help hold me accountable and to motivate. Of course I'd love to lose some lbs too...and that has slowly been happening. It's actually what gave me the kick in the ass to get to the gym...if the pounds were coming off without working out I figured maybe I would see more results with working out! Sounds logical, right?
So...here we are...a little late but still starting the year off strong.
